Billing Policy

The Consultation

At Tele Thoughts, we aim to provide accessible mental health services through online video conferencing. Our platform is designed to cater to individual needs, whether you prefer private sessions, group consultations, or involving family members or your referring doctor. We strive to ensure a seamless virtual experience from the comfort of your home. Tele Thoughts offers customised and easily accessible experiences for all participants.

Fees

Welcome to Tele Thoughts, where we operate on a private billing basis. Here's what you need to know about our billing practices:

● While we primarily operate on a private billing basis, we may offer bulk billing for initial general adult psychiatric consultations under specific conditions, limited to eligible remote locations. Our staff will discuss the possibility of bulk billing with your treating psychiatrist.
● Complex assessments such as ASD and ADHD may require multiple sessions to complete.
● The appointment fee must be paid in full in advance of your scheduled appointment. If eligible, you will receive a Medicare rebate.
● Before your session, our administrative staff will explain the associated expenses and provide an approximate Medicare rebate if applicable.
● To facilitate timely Medicare rebate processing, booking fees must be paid, with the remaining amount due three business days before your appointment.
● Payment methods include bank transfer (fee-free) or credit/debit card (charges may apply). For bank transfers, please provide proof of payment.
● The full payment is due three working days before your appointment. Failure to make payment may result in appointment cancellation and a cancellation fee.
● Medicare rebate ineligible patients must cover the entire cost. We can provide you with the psychiatrist's item number for potential reimbursement from your private insurance provider, subject to their terms and conditions.

Appointments

Reminder:

You will receive email and SMS reminders one day before your appointment, along with a video link. If you prefer not to receive these reminders, please contact our administration staff.

Rescheduling or Cancelling:

To ensure optimal care for all patients, we request at least two working days' notice for any changes or cancellations to your appointment. Late cancellations may incur a fee.

Non-Attendance Policy:

Failure to attend a scheduled appointment without prior notice will result in billing for the total appointment cost. Refunds will not be provided for non-attendance.

Refundability:

We do not offer refunds after appointments, regardless of assessment results. Please contact our administration team if you have any questions about this policy.

Amounts Due:

Outstanding debts will be recorded under your name, and we reserve the right to initiate the recovery procedure. Please communicate openly with our administrative team regarding any outstanding bills.

Communication:

After your consultation, we will send an assessment report to your referring doctor within 7-10 days. Requests to forward the report to another medical professional may incur an administration fee.
